How to send a large video in Gmail
Gmail allows up to 25 MB of attachments per email. Anything bigger is swapped for a Google Drive link that the recipient has to open separately. Compress the video under the limit here, then attach it directly.

- The video is re-encoded to an MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, the most widely playable combination. Bitrate and resolution are chosen from the size budget, and the finished file is measured before you can download it.
- Good to know
- The 25 MB limit covers every attachment in the message together, and encoding adds a little overhead, so the target leaves some room. Recipients on other email services may have lower receive limits.
