How to send a long video on WhatsApp
WhatsApp limits the size of videos sent as media and compresses them again when they are sent. Starting from a smaller, well-encoded MP4 means faster sending and a more predictable result. Pick a size, export, then share the file from your phone or WhatsApp Web.

- The video is re-encoded to an MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, the most widely playable combination. Bitrate and resolution are chosen from the size budget, and the finished file is measured before you can download it.

- WhatsApp may still compress media it receives, and limits vary by app version. Status videos are also limited in length. To send the original without recompression, share it as a document instead.
