Mastershot Studio

A free CapCut alternative with no watermark

CapCut's free plan lets you try its premium effects, templates, and AI, then asks for CapCut Pro when you export a video that uses them. Its help center says 4K, 60 fps, and exporting without a watermark are Pro features too. Mastershot Studio is a video editor in your browser with no paid plan: no watermark on any export, exports up to 4K, and automatic subtitles, background removal, and Magic Cut at no cost. It runs on a computer, not a phone, and it has no template library, so it suits people who edit their own footage.

What Studio doesn't have

  • A phone app. Studio needs a computer; on a phone, Mastershot's single-job tools (trim, crop, compress) still work.
  • Templates, stock footage, and a music library. You bring your own clips, pictures, and sound.
  • AI that generates video from a prompt. Studio's AI works on the footage you have.
  • Opening CapCut projects. A CapCut project can't be imported; export the video from CapCut and edit that.
  • Using it without an account. Studio asks you to sign in with Google or an email address so your projects are saved.

Questions

CapCut has a free plan. Its help center says some features need CapCut Pro, including 4K and 60 fps exports, exporting without a watermark, AI-powered generation, exclusive templates, and premium effects, and that exporting a video that uses them requires an active Pro subscription.

Mastershot Studio is free with no paid plan, and nothing you export from it has a watermark, at any resolution up to 4K. It runs in your browser on a computer.

Yes. Studio has no paid plan: the whole editor, 4K exports, and the AI tools are free, and there's no card to enter. The AI runs on your own computer, so there are no credits or minutes to run out of.

Not yet. Studio is built for a computer, in Chrome, Edge, or Safari. On a phone, Mastershot's free single-job tools work, such as Trim Video, Crop Video, and Compress Video.

No. Export the finished or unfinished video from CapCut, then add that file to a Studio project.

No. Your videos open straight from your computer and stay there, so even a 2 GB file is ready right away. Your project's edits are saved to your account so you can come back to them.
