How to add text to a GIF
Open a GIF and type your caption. It starts in white letters with a black outline, like a meme, at the bottom. Pick another font, size, or color, add a box behind it if you like, and drag it anywhere on the GIF. To caption only some frames, drag the ends of the slider under the GIF. This GIF captioner runs in your browser, so the GIF is never uploaded.

What to expect
- Supported inputs
- Animated or still GIFs.
- What happens
- The text is drawn into each frame it shows on. Every frame keeps its timing, and the GIF keeps its size, transparency, and loop setting.
- Limits
- A GIF holds up to 256 colors, so a text color far from the GIF's own colors can come out a little off, and soft edges get harder. Very long GIFs take longer to save.
