Your files and your work

Your videos, photos and sound stay on your device. They aren't uploaded to us, and we never see them. What you make with Mastershot is yours, and we claim no rights to it.

Studio saves each project to your account: your edits, text, subtitles and file names. We keep them only to show them back to you, and we delete them when you delete the project or your account.

You're responsible for what you edit. Only use files you have the right to use, and don't use Mastershot to make anything illegal.

The free tools

The tools are free to use, with no account, no limits and no watermark.

Studio accounts

Studio needs an account. Give a real email address, keep your password to yourself, and use the account for yourself only. You can delete your account at any time from Account settings in Studio, and everything stored with it is deleted too.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, such as one used to attack the service, get into other people's accounts, or sign up in bulk.

Mastershot Pro

Studio's free plan is the whole editor, with exports up to 1080p and no watermark, and every tool is free one file at a time. Mastershot Pro is a paid subscription, monthly or yearly, that adds 4K export and the AI tools in Studio, and doing many files at once in the tools. The price is shown before you pay, and taxes may be added where you live.

Payments are handled by Polar (polar.sh), which sells the subscription to you as the merchant of record. Your card details go to Polar and its payment processor, never to us.

Pro renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and Pro keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for. If the price changes, we'll email you first, and the new price starts at your next renewal.

Refunds

If Pro isn't right for you, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full. Renewals aren't refunded, so cancel before the next one if you don't want it. This doesn't limit any right to a refund the law where you live gives you.

Keep your originals

Mastershot works on copies of your files and doesn't change the originals. Studio keeps its copies in your browser, which can lose them if its storage is cleared, so keep your original files somewhere safe.

The service as it is

We work hard to make Mastershot reliable, but it's provided as it is, without guarantees that it will always be available, work with every file, or be free of mistakes. We may change, add or remove features. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for lost files or indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and its date. For a change that matters to Studio accounts, we'll email you before it takes effect.
