Audio cutter

Cut a song or recording to the part you want, or cut parts out of the middle. It works with MP3, WAV, M4A, and more, it’s free, and your file never leaves your device.

Files stay on your device

Drop a song or recording to cut

Drag the ends of the waveform in to keep the part you want, or split it and delete parts from the middle. A video's sound works too.

MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, and other audio, or a video with sound.

How to cut audio online

Open an MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, Ogg, or other audio file and drag the ends of the waveform in to keep the part you want. To cut a part out of the middle, split the audio there and delete it, or choose Separate files to split it into several. You can also fade the sound in at the start and out at the end. A video works too, and its sound is saved on its own as an MP3. The audio cutter runs in your browser on Windows, Mac, Android, or iPhone, with nothing to install.

  1. Step 1

    Choose the audio
An MP3, WAV, M4A, or other sound file, or a video.
  2. Step 2

    Mark what to keep
Drag the ends in, or split and delete parts from the middle.
  3. Step 3

    Download it
Saved in its own format, or as separate files in a ZIP.

What to expect

Supported inputs
MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, Ogg, Opus, AAC, AIFF, and other audio this browser’s engine can read, and videos with sound.
What happens
What you keep is saved in the file’s own format, copied without re-encoding. A fade re-encodes the sound in the same format. A video’s sound is saved as an MP3, and an AIFF as a WAV.
Limits
Without a fade, a cut lands on the nearest packet of sound, a few hundredths of a second at most from your mark.

Yes. Press Split wherever a part should end, choose Separate files, and download every part in a ZIP or one at a time.

No. Without a fade, the sound you keep is copied from the original as it is. A fade means encoding it again in the same format.

Yes. Open the video and cut it the same way. The sound is saved on its own as an MP3, and the picture is left out.
