Drop JPEGs to make a GIF

Add one or as many as you like; they play in the order you set. Everything happens on your device, so nothing is uploaded.

PNG, JPG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, SVG, BMP, and GIF. As many as you like, or a whole folder.

GIF settings
The GIF takes the first picture's shape. Each frame gets its own colors, so photos stay true.
Each picture shows for

Short times suit frames of an animation; a second or more suits photos. You can also set a time on any picture. A GIF or animated PNG keeps its own timing.

Width

Pictures are never made larger than they are, and a smaller GIF loads faster.

Pictures of another shape

Space around a picture of another shape stays transparent.

How to convert JPG to GIF

Add one JPEG to save it as a GIF, or several photos to make an animated GIF that steps through them. Choose how long each photo shows, how wide the GIF is, and whether it loops forever. JFIF and HEIC photos work too. It runs in your browser, so your photos stay on your device.

  1. Step 1

    Add your JPGs
One photo for a still GIF, or several for a slideshow.
  2. Step 2

    Set the order and timing
Put the photos in order, choose how long each shows and a width, such as 480 px.
  3. Step 3

    Download the GIF
Press Make GIF, check it plays right, and save it.

What to expect

Supported inputs
JPG and JPEG photos, JFIF, HEIC from an iPhone, and any other picture: PNG, WebP, SVG, or GIF.
What happens
Photos play in the order shown. Each frame gets its own 256 colors, finely dithered, so a photo looks close to the JPG. The GIF takes the first photo's shape.
Limits
A GIF of photos is usually larger than the JPGs, since GIF compresses photos poorly. A smaller width keeps it light.

Questions

Yes. Add the photos, put them in order, and set how long each one shows. The GIF loops forever unless you choose a number of plays.

GIF stores pixels with at most 256 colors and simple compression, while JPG is made for photos. Choose a smaller width for a lighter file.

A little: GIF has 256 colors a frame, so colors are blended with fine dots. Each photo gets its own colors, which keeps skin and skies close.
