How to convert MOV to MP4 online

What to expect

What happens
The tool copies compatible tracks into MP4 when possible and re-encodes tracks that cannot be copied. An iPhone video is H.265, so you choose: copy it as it is, or re-encode it as H.264 so it plays everywhere. The finished file reports its actual container and codecs.
Limits
Copying needs codecs that MP4 can hold. An extra track this browser cannot read, such as spatial audio, may be left out while the main video and audio are kept.

No. Some MOV files already contain MP4-friendly tracks and can be remuxed. Others need a full transcode before they will play or upload elsewhere.

iPhones record H.265 (HEVC), and an MP4 can hold it as it is, but many Windows PCs and Firefox can't play it. Choose Make H.264 before converting, and the MP4 plays almost everywhere.
