How to resize a GIF for Discord
Discord turns away an emoji over 256 KB, which most GIFs are. Open the GIF here and it's resized to 128 × 128, the size Discord shows emoji from, with the whole picture kept on a transparent square. If it's still too large, colors and frames are reduced until it fits. Then upload it in Server Settings, under Emoji. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded here.

What to expect
- Supported inputs
- Animated and still GIFs.
- What happens
- The GIF is fitted into 128 × 128 without stretching; space around a GIF that isn't square stays transparent. It's checked against 256 KB, and made lighter step by step if it's over.
- Limits
- Discord stickers have to be PNG or APNG, not GIF, so this page makes emoji. Custom sizes are still a click away under Custom.
