Drop WebPs to make a GIF

Add one or as many as you like; they play in the order you set. Everything happens on your device, so nothing is uploaded.

PNG, JPG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, SVG, BMP, and GIF. As many as you like, or a whole folder.

GIF settings
The GIF takes the first picture's shape. Each frame gets its own colors, so photos stay true.
Each picture shows for

Short times suit frames of an animation; a second or more suits photos. You can also set a time on any picture. A GIF or animated PNG keeps its own timing.

Width

Pictures are never made larger than they are, and a smaller GIF loads faster.

Pictures of another shape

Space around a picture of another shape stays transparent.

How to convert WebP to GIF

Add an animated WebP, such as a sticker or a clip saved from a website, and save it as a GIF that plays in every app and chat. Several still WebPs become frames of one animated GIF. Each frame gets its own 256 colors, and it all runs in your browser.

  1. Step 1

    Add your WebP
An animated WebP, or several stills.
  2. Step 2

    Set the timing
Animated ones keep theirs; stills get seconds each.
  3. Step 3

    Download the GIF
It plays in every app and chat.

What to expect

Supported inputs
WebP files, still or animated, and any other picture: PNG, JPG, GIF, AVIF, HEIC, or SVG.
What happens
An animated WebP keeps its frames and timing. Still pictures become frames shown for the seconds you set. An animated WebP plays in browsers that can decode its frames, such as Chrome and Edge; elsewhere it shows its first frame.
Limits
GIF holds 256 colors per frame and no partial transparency, so smooth gradients show some dithering.

Questions

Yes, in Chrome and Edge, which decode every frame. Elsewhere only its first frame comes through.

GIF is a much older format that compresses less, so the same animation usually takes more space.
