Audio trimmer

Trim audio by dragging in where it starts and stops, with a fade in or out if you like. It’s free, with no upload, sign-up, or watermark.

Files stay on your device

Drop a song or recording to trim

Drag the ends of the waveform in to choose where it starts and stops. Everything outside them is deleted.

MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, and other audio, or a video with sound.

How to trim an audio file

Open a song, voice memo, podcast, or any MP3, WAV, or M4A file. Drag the ends of the waveform in, or play to a spot and press I or O, to set where it starts and stops, then play it to check. The trimmed audio is saved in its own format. The audio trimmer runs in your browser, so the file stays on your device.

  1. Step 1

    Choose the audio
A song, a voice memo, or a podcast.
  2. Step 2

    Set the start and end
Drag them on the waveform, and add a fade if you like.
  3. Step 3

    Download it
The trimmed audio, in its own format.

What to expect

Supported inputs
MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, Ogg, Opus, AAC, AIFF, and other audio this browser’s engine can read, and videos with sound.
What happens
The trimmed audio keeps its format and is copied without re-encoding. A fade re-encodes it in the same format. A video’s sound is saved as an MP3, and an AIFF as a WAV.
Limits
Without a fade, the start and end land on the nearest packet of sound, a few hundredths of a second at most from your mark.
