Speed up or slow down a song, podcast, or voice recording, with the pitch kept or following along. It’s saved in the same format.
MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, and other audio, or a video with sound.
How to speed up or slow down audio
Open an MP3, WAV, M4A, or other audio file, pick a speed or type your own, and press play to hear it. Keep pitch stretches the sound so voices and notes stay in tune, for practicing a song or getting through a lecture faster. Change pitch works like a tape, so faster sounds higher and slower sounds deeper. If you know the song’s BPM, enter it and the tempo you want, and the speed is worked out for you.

What to expect
- Supported inputs
- MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, Ogg, Opus, AAC, AIFF, and other audio this browser’s engine can read, and videos with sound.
- What happens
- The sound is encoded again at the new speed, in the file’s own format. A FLAC or AIFF is saved as a WAV, and a video’s picture is sped up or slowed down with its sound.
- Limits
- Speeds range from 0.1× to 100×. Far from 1×, a kept pitch starts to sound smeared, so music sounds best between 0.5× and 2×.
