Drop videos to fit a size cap

Choose a quality level or an output size limit, then compare the finished file.

MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, MPEG-TS, and 3GP videos. You can also drag in a whole folder.

How to compress a video to 25 MB

Start with the 25 MB target or enter another file-size limit. The compressor estimates a bitrate, creates the video locally, and verifies the finished size before offering the download.

  1. Step 1

    Choose a video
Pick the file that needs to meet a size limit.
  2. Step 2

    Set the limit
Keep 25 MB or enter another target size.
  3. Step 3

    Download the result
Save the video after its final size is verified.

What to expect

Supported inputs
MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, MPEG-TS (.ts, .mts), and 3GP videos. AVI, WMV, and FLV files can’t be opened yet.
What happens
The default limit is 25 MB. Bitrate is estimated from the limit and source size, then the output is checked against the limit and original file size. A smaller input is never intentionally expanded to fill the limit.
Limits
A bitrate estimate is not a size guarantee. Very short size budgets, unsupported codecs, or device memory limits can prevent a valid export.

Your files stay on your device

Your computer does the work, so the file never has to be uploaded, and that’s also why it’s free: there’s no server time for us to pay for. You don’t need an account, and nothing you make gets a watermark.

“Thanks for the video trimmer! I had a file size that was too big for anywhere else and your free one helped a lot!”

Questions

Many email and upload forms reject files over 25 MB. You can change the limit if you need a different cap.

About a minute at 1080p, or about two minutes at 720p. Longer videos are scaled down automatically; for the best picture, trim the clip first.

The export stops instead of handing you an oversized file. Trim the video, raise the limit, or try a different file.
