Smaller than JPG and PNG, for websites. Keeps transparency.

Lower makes smaller files. A picture that's already a WebP is kept as it is.

How to convert JPG to WebP

Add your JPGs and each one is saved as a WebP, which is usually 25 to 35% smaller at the same quality. Smaller images make a website load faster. They're converted in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

  1. Step 1

    Choose your JPGs
Pick one or many, or drop them into the converter above.
  2. Step 2

    Keep WebP
WebP is selected; choose another format if you need one.
  3. Step 3

    Download the WebP
Save each WebP, or all of them in a ZIP.

What to expect

Supported inputs
JPG and JPEG images, and any other picture: PNG, HEIC, AVIF, SVG, BMP, or GIF.
What happens
Each JPG is saved as a WebP at 85% quality and its full size. Lower the quality for a smaller file, or raise it to keep more detail.
Limits
Safari, and every browser on iPhone and iPad, loads a WebP encoder the first time, which takes a moment. Very large images can be too much for a phone's browser.
