Lower makes smaller files. A picture that's already a WebP is kept as it is.

How to convert PNG to WebP

Add your PNGs and each one is saved as a WebP, which is usually much smaller and keeps transparency. Smaller images make a page load faster. Everything is converted in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

  1. Step 1

    Choose your PNGs
Pick one or many, or drop them into the converter above.
  2. Step 2

    Keep WebP
WebP is selected; choose another format if you need one.
  3. Step 3

    Download the WebP
Save each WebP, or all of them in a ZIP.

What to expect

Supported inputs
PNG images, and any other picture: JPG, HEIC, AVIF, SVG, BMP, or GIF.
What happens
Each PNG is saved as a WebP at 85% quality and its full size, with transparency kept. Raise the quality for sharper text, or lower it for a smaller file.
Limits
Very large images can be too much for a phone's browser. Safari, and every browser on iPhone and iPad, loads a WebP encoder the first time, which takes a moment.
