MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, and other audio, or a video with sound.

How to make an audio spectrum video

Open a song and save an MP4 of its spectrum: a row of bars, lows on the left and highs on the right, that rise and fall with the music. Put them in the middle or along the bottom, or bend them into a ring. This audio spectrum visualizer runs in your browser, so the song is never uploaded.

  1. Step 1

    Choose your song
Pick an MP3, WAV, M4A, or other sound file.
  2. Step 2

    Set the bars
Choose a place, a color, and a size, or bend them into a ring.
  3. Step 3

    Download the MP4
Save a video of the spectrum moving with the music.

What to expect

Supported inputs
Songs and other sound files, such as MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, and OGG. Pictures can be PNG, JPEG, or WebP.
What happens
The sound is split into 64 bands, from about 45 Hz to 16 kHz, 30 times a second. Each song is scaled to its own loudness, so a quiet recording moves as much as a loud master.
Limits
One song per video. The spectrum is drawn from a file, not live from a microphone or a browser tab.

Questions

How loud each pitch is at each moment: bass on the left, treble on the right.

Yes. Pick one of the colors, take one from your picture, or choose your own.

Yes. The song is read ahead of time, so each frame shows the sound it plays over.
