Compress WebP

Compress WebP images to a size in KB for free, with transparency kept. Many at once, with no upload or sign-up.

Files stay on your device

Drop images to get them under 100 KB

Add one or as many as you like. Each is compressed on your device until it fits, so nothing is uploaded.

PNG, JPG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, SVG, BMP, and GIF. As many as you like, or a whole folder.

Compress to
Each picture is saved at the highest quality that fits, then drawn smaller when quality alone can't get it there.

A picture already under it is kept as it is.

Smaller than JPG at the same quality, for websites. Keeps transparency.

Off, the quality goes as low as it takes instead, and some sizes can't be reached.

How to compress a WebP image

Type the largest size you need, add your WebP pictures, and each is saved at the highest quality that fits, then drawn smaller only when quality alone isn't enough. It suits pictures for a website, where every KB slows the page. Transparency is kept, and everything happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

  1. Step 1

    Choose your WebPs
Add one picture, several, or a folder.
  2. Step 2

    Check the size
Keep 100 KB or type the size you need.
  3. Step 3

    Download
Save each WebP, or all of them in a ZIP, once its size is checked.

What to expect

Supported inputs
WebP images, and any other picture: JPG, PNG, HEIC, AVIF, BMP, GIF, or SVG. Everything is saved as WebP.
What happens
A WebP under the size is kept as it is. Over it, it's saved at lower and lower quality until it fits, and only then drawn smaller. Every file is read back and measured before you see it. Safari, which can't write WebP itself, uses a built-in encoder.
Limits
An animated WebP is saved as its first frame. Very large pictures can be more than a phone's browser can hold.

Yes. Transparent parts stay transparent at every quality.

Yes. Add them here and they're saved as WebP, usually far smaller than the PNG.
