How to convert an image to ICO

Add a logo or picture and download an ICO file that holds it at 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 128, and 256 pixels, so a browser tab or Windows picks the size it needs. SVG logos are drawn sharp at every size. It runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device.

  1. Step 1

    Add your picture
A square PNG or SVG logo at least 256 pixels wide works best.
  2. Step 2

    Pick the sizes
All of them are ticked, from 16 to 256 pixels.
  3. Step 3

    Download the ICO
Use it as favicon.ico or a Windows icon.

What to expect

Supported inputs
PNG, JPG, SVG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, BMP, and GIF files.
What happens
The picture is scaled to each size and stored as a PNG inside the ICO, with transparency kept. A picture that isn't square sits in the middle of a transparent square.
Limits
ICO holds up to 256 × 256 pixels. Sizes larger than the picture are left out, except for SVGs, which are drawn at every size.
